Quality Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology for DVA and Medicare funded care.
The Department of Veterans Affairs will fund physiotherapy services for eligible DVA members holding a DVA Gold card or a DVA White card. From 1 October 2019, your GP will need to refer you to this service under the Allied Health Services treatment cycle. There is no additional charge on physiotherapy services at SportsPlus Physiotherapy for eligible DVA members and we will bill DVA directly for your physiotherapy consultation.
Your GP can refer you for up to 5 allied health sessions per year under the Chronic Disease Management plan supported by Medicare. This program will enable you to claim a Medicare rebate on physiotherapy for relevant conditions. Full payment is required at the time of your appointment and your rebate will be immediately processed similarly to private health. For more information please visit the Department of Health Website.

Yes. To access the benefits from both DVA and Medicare you will need a referral. Please review the websites or contact your GP for more information.
For your first DVA physiotherapy appointment we will require your eligible DVA card and a physiotherapy referral.
For the Chronic Disease Management plan please bring any referrals or paperwork from your GP.
Eligible DVA cardholders will not need to make any payment. We will bill the DVA on your behalf.
Medicare physiotherapy can be reimbursed on site. We will take your payment, process your claim, and provide your medicare refund immediately.

No, your will not be out of pocket for DVA or Medicare for use with our Physiotherapy services. To use an Medicare/EPC plan, there will be a gap payment for Senior Physiotherapy services.
